The project community

The people behind the trail.

Alta Via dei Lattari 1876 began as a shared experience and grows thanks to people who bring together knowledge, care and responsibility for the territory.

The team

An idea born
while walking.

In 2019, the desire to imagine the Lattari Mountains through the eyes of past travellers turned a crossing into a cultural project.

Our roots

Vette e Baite.

Alta Via dei Lattari 1876 grew within a community that has shared a tangible love of mountains and outdoor life since 2017.

Vette e Baite brings together different people, skills and stories. What they share is a simple approach: experience places first-hand, respect the environments crossed and tell the story of people and nature without separating it from the history of local communities.

The project takes this vision further: the crossing becomes a space in which hiking, culture and responsibility support one another.

An open network

The trail also belongs
to those who care for it.

Associations, guides, scholars, mountain huts, accommodation providers, craftspeople and local communities all add depth to the experience. Collaboration is not a frame around the story: it is part of the story.

Share

Bring together skills and testimony.

Care

Reduce impact and respect places and people.

Give back

Leave relationships and knowledge with the territory.

The Year Zero community

Many skills,
one shared responsibility.

Guides and staff

They lead the group and care for safety, pace and the quality of the experience.

Custodians and witnesses

They bring memories, knowledge and viewpoints that no map can replace.

Local partners

They make hospitality possible and build continuity beyond the three days.

Walkers

Not simply customers, but informed participants called upon to respect and share the project.
